Product Warranty & Protection | Aussie Traveller

Aussie Traveller stands behind every product we manufacture. Our warranties are designed to give you confidence and peace of mind, knowing that your caravan awning investment is protected. With over 35 years of experience serving happy campers across Australia, we understand how important it is to have transparent, reliable warranty coverage for your home away from home.

Whether you've invested in our premium Ripstop vinyl (protected for 3 years), our standard Aussie Traveller products (12-month warranty), or imported brands like Thule and TRED, this page explains your protection and how to get support if you need it.

Warranty Periods by Product

Our warranties vary by product type and material quality. Here's what's covered:

  • Aussie Traveller Products - 12 months
  • Aussie Traveller 4 Layer Vinyl - 12 months
  • Aussie Traveller Ripstop Vinyl - 3 years
  • Robot Trolley Products - 2 years
  • SOG Products - 2 years
  • Thule Products - 2 years (On items we import & are purchased from us)
  • TRED Products - 12 months (Limited lifetime warranty on selected products only)

What Warranty Covers

Our warranty protects you against defects in workmanship and materials. When you purchase from Aussie Traveller, your warranty covers manufacturing defects that affect the functionality of your awning or related product.

Specifically, warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects – Problems caused by faulty workmanship or materials during production
  • Mechanical failures – Components that fail to function due to manufacturing faults (not wear and tear)
  • Structural integrity – Issues with joins, seams, or frame construction that compromise quality
  • Material defects – Vinyl tears, seam separation, or surface degradation caused by manufacturing (not use or exposure)
  • Hardware failures – Zips, hinges, brackets, or fasteners that fail due to manufacturing defects

Your warranty does NOT cover normal wear and tear or damage from use. As a happy camper, you'll want to understand what Aussie Traveller warrants versus what constitutes expected product aging over time.

What's NOT Covered

Understanding warranty exclusions helps you plan maintenance and protect your investment. Our warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear – Minor fading from UV exposure, minor staining, or gradual vinyl aging
  • User damage or accidents – Tears from improper handling, impact damage, or installation errors
  • Misuse or neglect – Damage from storage without protection, lack of maintenance, or exposure to extreme conditions
  • Unauthorised repairs – Work performed by unlicensed installers or modifications to the original product void warranty
  • Environmental damage – Water intrusion from improper installation, extreme weather events, or natural disasters
  • Cosmetic issues – Colour variations, minor scratches, or appearance changes that don't affect function
  • Third-party component failures – For imported brands (Thule, TRED, etc.), their manufacturer handles warranty on those components

The key is this: warranty covers manufacturing defects, not damage from use or external factors. If you're unsure whether something is covered, contact our team before attempting any repairs – unauthorised work can void your warranty protection.

Why Different Products Have Different Warranty Periods

You might notice that Ripstop vinyl has a 3-year warranty while standard vinyl gets 12 months. This reflects the material quality and durability differences:

  • Ripstop Vinyl (3 years) – Premium material with reinforced construction, rated for extended outdoor use
  • Standard Vinyl (12 months) – Quality material for typical caravan use, industry-standard protection
  • Imported Brands (2 years typical) – Thule, TRED, and Robot Trolley warranties are set by their manufacturers, reflecting their quality standards

At Aussie Traveller, we're proud to offer 3-year protection on our premium Ripstop vinyl – giving happy campers extra confidence in their investment. Different products warrant different protection periods because they're built for different durability profiles.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

We want to resolve any issues quickly and with minimum inconvenience. Here's the simple process for filing a warranty claim on your Aussie Traveller product:

Step 1: Contact Us Within 7 Days

As soon as you notice a defect, reach out to our team within 7 days of discovering the issue. We need this timeframe to assess the problem while it's fresh and determine if it's covered under warranty.

Step 2: Describe the Issue

Provide clear details about the problem:

  • When you first noticed the defect
  • What exactly isn't working or is damaged
  • How it affects your use of the awning
  • Photos of the issue (if possible – very helpful for assessment)
  • Product serial number or purchase receipt

Step 3: Submit Warranty Claim Form

Please complete and submit the Warranty Claim Request form. Note: We cannot process your warranty request until we receive the completed form. This form captures all essential information needed to assess your claim quickly.

Step 4: Assessment & Resolution

Once we receive your claim, our team will:

  • Review the issue details and photos
  • Determine if the defect is covered under warranty
  • Contact you within 1-2 business days with a resolution plan
  • Arrange repair or replacement if covered
  • Guide you through the next steps

We're committed to resolving warranty claims as quickly as possible – we know your caravan awning is important to your camping experience.

Keeping Your Warranty Valid

Your warranty protection depends on proper product care and maintenance. To keep your coverage intact, follow these guidelines:

  • Proper storage – Store awnings in a dry location when not in use; don't leave extended in harsh weather
  • Regular maintenance – Clean zips, hinges, and seams regularly; inspect for early signs of wear
  • Correct installation – Use only qualified installers; DIY installation mistakes may void warranty
  • No modifications – Don't alter, repair, or modify the product without our approval
  • Professional repairs only – Any warranty work must be done by authorised service providers
  • Keep documentation – Maintain your purchase receipt and warranty registration

Essentially, if you maintain your Aussie Traveller awning properly and use it as intended, your warranty stays valid. Normal wear and tear is expected – warranty protects you against manufacturing defects, not age or use.
